There are thousands of talented people building in Africa’s tech ecosystem.
Developers. Designers. Founders. Product managers. Community leads. AI builders. Startup operators.
But there’s one group we still don’t have enough of:
Tech storytellers.
The people who document the ecosystem.
The people who ask important questions.
The people who connect local innovation to global conversations.
The people who make sure incredible ideas don’t disappear unnoticed.
That is why we are launching the Techies Node StoryLab Community, a growing community for African tech storytellers, ecosystem writers, creators, media enthusiasts, and curious observers passionate about documenting and shaping the future of technology in Africa.
At Techies Node, we believe Africa’s tech future cannot only be built by engineers and founders. It must also be built by people who can communicate ideas, tell meaningful stories, preserve ecosystem history, and amplify emerging voices from communities often overlooked.
For too long, the conversation around African tech has been concentrated in a few cities and controlled by a few narratives. Meanwhile, brilliant founders, creators, and innovators across places like Ibadan, Ilorin, Akure, Enugu, Kaduna, Abeokuta, and many other emerging ecosystems continue to build quietly without enough visibility.
We want to change that.
The Techies Node StoryLab Community is a space where storytellers and ecosystem builders can learn, collaborate, and grow together.
Inside the community, we will explore:
• Tech journalism and ecosystem storytelling
• Startup and founder interviews
• Content creation for tech brands
• AI tools for creators and writers
• Community-led reporting
• Media opportunities in tech
• Personal branding for storytellers
• Collaborative newsletters and projects
• Workshops, challenges, and mentorship
Whether you are:
an aspiring tech writer,
a student curious about tech media,
a creator interested in startup storytelling,
a founder who wants to document your journey,
or someone passionate about Africa’s digital future,
there is a place for you here.
This is more than a content community.
It is an attempt to build the media and storytelling infrastructure that emerging African tech ecosystems deserve.
The next generation of African tech stories should not only come from Silicon Valley-style headlines or billion-dollar funding announcements. They should also come from local communities, university campuses, co-working spaces, grassroots innovators, and everyday builders shaping the future quietly.
we believe the people telling those stories matter.
If you want to be part of this movement, stay connected with Techies Node. More details about community onboarding, workshops, collaborations, and membership channels will be announced soon.
Africa’s tech ecosystem needs more storytellers.
You May be one of them.
