Renaissance Philanthropy is launching Africa Jobs Fund, a new initiative aiming to mobilize $100 million to create high-productivity jobs for Africa’s next generation.
The fund will back exceptional entrepreneurs to build companies in export manufacturing and international labor mobility in Africa.
The fund is led by Daniel Yu, founder of Africa’s largest B2B e-commerce company Wasoko, which raised $145m, served 150,000 businesses across Africa and completed Africa’s largest ever tech merger in 2024. He is also Board Chair at migration nonprofit Malengo.
Yu, is joined by Operating Partner Ben Hyman, who built a leading talent company in Africa, and by two advisors – former head of USAID Samantha Power and 2x African unicorn founder Iyinoluwa Aboyeji.
