Job Up Career Consulting is set to hold its 2026 Career & Business Conference at the University of Ibadan on Saturday, 29th August, as part of the company’s ongoing Campus Tour series. The event forms part of a broader push by career consulting outfits to meet students where they are, rather than expecting them to find their way to formal career services after graduation.
This edition carries the theme “Become Valuable,” a framing that moves away from the usual motivational language around “chasing opportunities” and instead treats employability as something built deliberately, through skills, mindset, relationships, and accumulated experience.
Become Valuable speaks directly to a persistent gap in Nigeria’s job market. Employers consistently report a mismatch between what graduates bring to the table and what roles actually require, even as unemployment among young people remains high. Conferences like this one are, in effect, an attempt to close that gap at the point of origin, inside the university, before students enter the job search.
The conference will run from 9AM on Saturday, 29th August 2026, at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State. Registration is open now via the QR code on Job Up’s promotional materials, or through the link shared on the organization’s social platforms under the handle @Jobupnig (LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter/X).
Techiesnode will be bringing updates on the Job Up Campus event and whether “Become Valuable” delivers concrete pathways beyond the conference room.
