Adebayo Adegbite is nominated For Ibadan Tech Awards 2026

Adebayo Adegbite, has been nominated in three categories at the Ibadan Tech Awards 2026: Tech Personality of the Year, Tech Content Creator of the Year, and Tech Operator of the Year.

We get to share something we are very proud of today. Techiesnode’s co-founder, Adebayo Adegbite, has been nominated in three categories at the Ibadan Tech Awards 2026: Tech Personality of the Year, Tech Content Creator of the Year, and Tech Operator of the Year. The awards will be presented at Ibadan Tech Expo 2026 on 27 November.

Three nominations. Three different forms of recognition for showing up for the Ibadan Tech ecosystem. All of them trace back to the work that Adebayo has done to make Techiesnode what it is, and how much Techies Node has achieved in our quest to tell Africa’s Tech Stories and become a convergence point for stakeholders in the African tech ecosystem.

Tech Personality of the Year.

Adebayo has spent years putting Ibadan’s builders in the spotlight, from founders and community leads to students and creators. He has given tech products their moments on #BuiltforAfrica, showcased tech communities and amplified the voices of tech startup founders and subject matter experts. There is no doubt that this nomination recognises a voice the ecosystem has learned to trust.

Tech Content Creator of the Year.

From #BuiltForAfrica startup profiles to event coverage, op-eds and interviews, the work has been consistent, thoughtful and built around one belief: African products deserve to be understood properly. Every story is another entry in a growing record of what is being built in Ibadan in particular and Africa as a whole. The nomination is a recognition of that desire to tell Africa’s Tech Stories from within her shoes

Tech Operator of the Year.

Behind every published piece is a system: partnerships, calendars, planning, coordination, and the discipline of showing up again the next day. This nomination celebrates operator work, which is rarely applauded and always essential.

Ibadan has long been told its story in someone else’s voice, often as a footnote to Lagos. Adebayo has spent his career pushing back on that, telling the story from here, with pride and in detail. To see that work nominated at home, at Ibadan Tech Expo, Ibadan’s largest gathering of tech startups and stakeholders in front of the community it was made for, is special.

For all of us at Techiesnode, this is also a moment to say thank you. Thank you to the founders who trusted us with their stories, the communities who opened their doors, the readers who kept coming back, and the partners and collaborators who made the work possible. These nominations belong to all of you.

Whatever happens on 27 November, this is already a win worth celebrating. But he is up against a number of contenders who have also put in the work in the tech ecosystem, in their own right so he needs your help to win  and to help him  us keep Ibadan’s story loud, proud and well told. Go to the Ibadan Tech Expo website to vote for Adebayo in all 3 categories he has been nominated in. And also buy your tickets on the website to be in the room to cheer him to victory.

Congratulations, Adebayo. We are just getting started.
